Reiki is a soothing energy healing technique originated from Japan that helps our mind and body return to its natural state of balance. It was developed by Mikao Usui in the 1920s. The term Reiki (靈氣) comes from two Japanese words: “Rei,” which means universal, and “ki,” which means life force of energy. The idea is that all of us are tapped into a powerful life force flowing throughout the universe. The Reiki practitioner serves as a vessel that allows this universal energy to flow through them and reach to the recipient where it is needed. With the help of the energy, the practitioner can help remove the blockage and improve the energy flow in the recipient.
Every person expedience Reiki differently, depending on how sensitive they are. You might feel sensations like heat, tingling, or pulsing where the practitioner is focusing on at the moment. Or you might not notice anything obvious. No matter how you feel or not feel during the session, most people experience deep relaxation at the end.
Each session lasts about 1 hour. The first 5 minutes is for video chat in which the client describes briefly the areas they feel they need the most support. Then the rest of the session is done silently. You can rest and receive the session comfortably, with music playing in the background if you so choose to. After the session, we will send you an email to briefly report how the session went from the practitioner's point of view.
Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience. It can be used to reduce stress and anxiety, and promote the physical and mental balance. It has also been reported that Reiki can assist with relieving many physical symptoms, including aches and pain, nausea, flu-like symptoms, fatigue. It can also improve sleep quality.
